LEWIS, JOYCE N. (WHELAN) 71, of Leisure Village, Coventry and formerly of Warwick, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at R I Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late James C. Lewis. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Irene (Feeley) Whelan.
Joyce had been a resident of Coventry for 17 years, previously residing in Warwick. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and spending time with her family especially her pride and joy “JJ” her great-grandson. She was the mother of James C. Lewis Jr. and his wife Anna L. Adamo of Coventry and Judi L. Lewis of West Warwick. She was the grandmother of Jason Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Jesse Lewis, Gregory Matthews and Silvio Antonelli. Joyce was the sister of Harold Whelan and Nancy Andrews both of Warwick and Mary Phillips of West Warwick.
Her Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry. Interment in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingstown. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4 to 7 pm.
