Committal Service with Military Honors

BEDROSSIAN, HARRY, 87, of Cranston, RI passed away Sunday January 26, 2014. He was the husband of Mary (Derderian) Bedrossian for 66 years. Born in East Providence, RI, Harry was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Hulgatian) Bedrossian.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Harry Michael Bedrossian, his wife Aida and a grandson, Andrew.

During World War II, Harry joined the United States Marine Corps at age 17. He was with the 1st Marine Division prior to the Peleliu invasion going on to the invasion of Okinawa. From there to the liberation of the Chinese in China. He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon. Presidential Unit Citation with Star, Asiatic Ribbon with Star, Good Conduct Medal along with others. Harry was also a life member of the NRA, the 1st Marine Division, the China Marine Association, and the DAV. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.
Harry was the brother of the late Sharvish, Samuel and Ralph Bedrossian, Roxy Mikaelian, Ann Adoian, Agnes Melekian, Betty Byrd and Margaret Vingneau.

His funeral is Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in St. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church 402 Broadway, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Quidnessett Cemetery, North Kingstown. VISITATION Thursday morning 8:45a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Online condolences WoodlawnGattone.com

I am so very sorry and deeply saddened to hear of this.
Mr. Bedrossian was an icon.I “grew up” as a dancer listening to he , and later , his son play.My prayers are for your family to heal as quickly as possible.May he rest in peace.
