Carolyn (Bailey) D’Amico, 88, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Kent Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Aldo D’Amico.  Born in Newport, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. Bailey and Leota (Gibney) Bailey.

Carolyn was employed as a Bookkeeper most of her adult life and at Rhode Island College until her retirement in 1988.  See received her Associates in Science in Business degree from the Rhode Island Community College in 1984.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Adah Chapter 15, the Active Older Adults Knitting Group, and a Communicant of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wickford.

Carolyn enjoyed travel here in the United States and abroad.  She also enjoyed  regular games of authentic Chinese Mahjong and Rummikub with close friends. She shared much of her time in retirement as a volunteer in both Melbourne Florida and at South County Hospital. Carolyn was an avid knitter, enjoyed crocheting, and made many various items to donate to those in need. When younger she enjoyed skiing, hiking, and camping over much of New England.

She leaves her two beloved sons: Alan J. D’Amico of Springfield, VT and Wayne R. D’Amico and his wife Bethany Whaley of North Kingstown. Cherished grandmother of Travis D’Amico of White River Junction, VT, Joseph D’Amico of North Kingstown, Cassandra D’Amico of North Kingstown, and great-grandmother of Madyson D’Amico and Ava D’Amico of Vermont.  She was the sister of the late Leota Moon.

In accordance with her wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.  Calling hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Kent Hospital Auxiliary, 455 Toll Gate Road, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.  Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
