Herman F. Lippman, 98, of Salton City, CA died August 12, 2013. He was the husband of the late Arline L. (Lonergan) Lippman and the late Roxy (Klingensmith) Lippman.
Born in Providence, the son of the late Herman and Ella (Marx) Lippman, Jr., he lived in Cranston and Ford City, PA before moving to California. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII who retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the Naval Reserve in 1974.
He was a graduate of Brown University and was employed as an electrical engineer by Narragansett Electric for forty years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. John’s Lodge 1P, F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Providence and the Rhode Island Shriners.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Barbara Fairchild-Lippman with whom he lived, his sister Arline Klingensmith of Narragansett, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Robert F. Lippman and brother of the late Virginia Huntley.
A private graveside service was held in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Arrangements made by Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory.
