Richard E. “Dick” Joyal, age 70, passed away at Flagler Hospital on June 4, 2012. Dick was born and raised in West Warwick, Rhode Island. He made a home with his family in North Kingstown, RI until 2004 when he and his wife Barbara (Zachko) Joyal retired to St. Augustine, Florida.
He served in the US Air Force and went on to enjoy a fulfilling 30 year career with Brown and Sharpe as a precision measurement engineer. Dick loved his family, his work, his Ford F250 truck and his pets. He was passionate about cars, was a Red Sox fan and was a man that could fix anything.
Richard was deeply loved and will be missed by his wife, Barbara; 2 daughters, Katie(Glen) Aplin of Palm Coast; Kristen Joyal of Virginia Beach, Virginia; granddaughter, Maeve Aplin and sister, Jacqueline Seidel of Swansboro, NC.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Anastasia Catholic Church on Monday, June 11th at 9:00 AM Richards’s cremains will be taken to Rhode Island for burial. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you contribute to St. Augustine Humane Society, PO Box 133, St. Augustine, FL 32085.
