Chester G. Matteson, II, 65, of Exeter, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Brenda K. (Joslin) Matteson for 40 years.
Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of John H. Matteson of North Kingstown and the late Ruth E. (Collins) Matteson.
Mr. Matteson was the owner and operator of the Corner Tavern Restaurant.
He enjoyed antiquing, playing cards and gardening.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves 2 children, Jennifer Reay of North Kingstown and Chester G. Matteson, III of West Greenwich; a sister, Joan Matteson Funk of Farmington, NH; and 4 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John H. Matteson, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 11am in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Road, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8pm in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Lung Association will be appreciated.
