In addition to his long time loving partner Carolyn Craig of Green Hill Beach, Rhode Island, Norton is survived by sister Silvia Zorena of Virginia Beach, Virginia, son David Chellgren and his wife Lorene of Canton, Connecticut and Green Hill Beach, Rhode Island, son Paul Chellgren and his wife Kelli of Dallas, Texas, son Mark Chellgren and his companion Sheila Swan of Wakefield, Rhode Island and son Stephen Chellgren of East Hartford, Connecticut. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he proudly served as a member of the Army Signal Corps. A graduate of the University of Arkansas and a member of its Phi Beta Kappa chapter, he was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and worked his entire career as an Actuary at Aetna, principally the Aetna Group Division. He loved all things relating to baseball, including “stats” and memorabilia. He was an active member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department where he enjoyed the camaraderie of those who served with him. Later, during his retirement he spent 20 years as a volunteer for Seniors Helping Others (SRIV). He loved interacting with others and made numerous friends at Green Hill. What his sons will remember are those games of football and basketball that were played in the yard with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southern Rhode Island Volunteers (SRIV) at 25 St. Dominic Road, Wakefield, Rhode Island, 02879. For guest book and condolences, averystortifuneralhome.com
