Committal Service with Military Honors for Retired Deputy Fire Chief Cranston Fire Department

Canavey, John W., 76, of 55 Anne Drive in East Greenwich passed away on Wednesday April 30, 2014. John was also a United States Air Force veteran who was assigned to the Intelligence Division. Born in Providence, John was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Boyer) Canavey.
He was the loving father of Ronna Antonelli and the late Mark Blanchette. He is also survived by his sister Sallymae Shaw and her husband Bruce, grandchildren Joseph and Nicole Antonelli and was the brother of the late Charles T. Cavaney.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingstown. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Hospice Care of Rhode Island 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.
