Dorothy A. (Grundy) Peffer, age 90, of Law Street, Warwick, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late John A. Peffer.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (McLaren) Grundy, she was a life-long Warwick resident. A graduate of Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing, she was employed as a registered nurse in the operating room at Rhode Island Hospital for 38 years, retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Peffer was an active parishioner at St. Mark Episcopal Church in Warwick, and a member and former director of its altar guild.
She is survived by a son, Jeff Peffer and his wife Susan of Cumberland; and two grandchildren, Andrew W. Peffer and Kristen E. Peffer. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth M. Huntemann.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 22, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mark’s Church Building Fund.
