Dorothy B. May, 104, of East Greenwich and formerly of North Scituate, died peacefully on December 23, 2012. She was the wife of the late Elmer E. May. Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Irving H. and Christina (Barden) Baker.

Mrs. May had worked many years for the former Boston Wire Stitcher Company, later called Bostitch.

She was a long-time member of Quidnessett Baptist Church, where she taught religious evangelism for the Good News Club. She was also a direct descendent of Roger Williams and Revolutionary War veterans.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolen C. Ellis DeRestie; three grandchildren, Peter, Mark and Christine DeRestie; and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Howard B. Baker.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Road, North Kingstown.
