Section 302 Lot 4 Grave 11

Larson, Carl A., 92, of Warwick & East Greenwich, died on August 5, 2013 at the Westerly Health Center. He was the husband of the late Katherine “Mickey” (Sullivan) Larson and son of the late Carl A. and Sophie (Granlund) Larson.

Carl graduated from Hope High School in 1938 and Rhode Island State College (URI) in 1942. Carl began his long career as an insurance adjuster directly out of college with Transamerica Insurance and ultimately opened his own business as an independent adjuster working with many insurance companies and brokers throughout RI & MA. He loved the time he spent on the road traveling around his territory to settle claims and prided himself on his ability to get the most equitable settlement for all parties involved. While at URI, Carl was an active member of Lambda Chi fraternity and the URI baseball team, playing for the esteemed Coach Frank Keaney. He was a long time supporter of URI athletics. Carl spent many of his summers boating on Greenwich Bay. He enjoyed time spent with his wife, Mickey, on various activities for St. Rose of Lima Church, as well as being members of the Greenwich Club and the East Greenwich Fireman’s Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Richard) Reich of Narragansett and Paul Larson of Cranston, his grandchildren Ryan of Smithfield, Nathan of Warwick and Thomas of Narragansett. He also leaves a great-grand daughter. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Dawn, his brother, Albert, and his in-laws, Mary and William Wadbrook and Edward Sullivan. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Millie Sullivan, of Warwick and several nieces and nephews. Carl was a good friend and neighbor to everyone he knew. Carl & Mickey loved to socialize and enjoyed all of their friends and acquaintances. They both lived a very good life.

Visiting hours are omitted and funeral services will be private. Arrangements made by the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Father Ferry Fund at St. Rose of Lima School, 200 Brentwood Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886.
