Meredith L. Nelson, 69, of North Kingstown, passed away July 19, 2013. She was the devoted companion of Wilbert E. Fritz. Born at 39 Norden Avenue in Warwick, she was the youngest daughter of the late Arthur G. and Mabel I. (Miller) Norden.
Ms. Nelson received a Masters Degree from Rhode Island College and had been an elementary school teacher for the Warwick School Department for her entire teaching career. She was the owner of Organization Plus Road Race Management Services. Meredith was also the former President of the Royal Doulton Collectors Club, New England.
Besides her companion, she is survived by her sister, Natalie L. Fisette, of Warwick; grandchildren XinLing Ann Fritz of Mechanicsville, VA, and Hanna and Nicholas Fritz, of Attleboro, MA; loving nieces and nephews Barbara A. Connor, of Dalton, MA, Barbara E. Pierce, of North Kingstown, RI, James H. Fisette, Joan M. Nelson, and Harvey J. Fisette, of Warwick, RI, Debra L. Lawless, of Cranston, RI and Brewster, MA, Pamela A. Hamilton, of Weymouth, MA, Linda N. Ienarella, of Cranston, RI, and Thomas J. Norden, of Warwick, RI, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Marian F. Connor, William A. Norden, Elsa L. Carey, and Barbara A. Aaronson.
Funeral service is Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:00 am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main Street, East Greenwich. Burial will be in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours will be on Monday, July 22nd from 5-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Meredith’s memory in any way you find meaningful.

I had her at Asa Messer School in 1965 when she was a student teacher. Sad to hear of her passing. Always among my childhood memories.
