Monday, March 18, 2013 following 11:00am funeral service at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home (Section 23 Lot 9A Grave 2)

Cranston – Florence R. (Crook) Taylor, 100, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry “Harry” Taylor.

Born in Cranston, the youngest daughter of the late James and Clarissa (Smith) Crook, she was a graduate of Bryant-Stratton Business College. She worked right after college, until devoting her time to motherhood.

She was an active member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church and the church’s Hope Circle. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed dancing and travelled the world with her husband and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Marilyn R. Spitznagel and Linda S. Taylor; three grandchildren: Kimberly Dusseault, Tanna Carroll and Amy Uhrig and nine great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Alva Keith, Ethel Frew, Alberta Crook, Cora Swanson, James and Harold E. Crook Sr.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18 at 11:00 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday morning from 9:00 – 11:00. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations sent to Sunny View Nursing Home Sunshine Club, 83 Corona St., Warwick, RI 02886.
