Juri Saarmaa, 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick. He was the husband of Elli (Jansson) Saarmaa of Coventry. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, he was the son of the late Jaan and Linda (Uudekul) Saarmaa.
He was an avid sports, cookbook and cooking show fan, and enjoyed walking his dog Orio. After a career with Citibank in New York, he spent much of his retirement living in Estonia with his wife Elli.
He is survived by a son; Erik Saarmaa and his wife Jody of Boston, MA and Jamestown, RI.
A Life Celebration will take place on Saturday, October 27 at 1 PM at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Road, North Kingstown, RI.
