Wednesday, October 17, 2012 following 9am Funeral from the R.A. Iannotti Funeral Home and 10am Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church

FRICOT, GHISLAIN A., 95, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, RI.

Born in West Warwick, son of the late Auguste and Charlotte Fricot, he resided for much of his life in Coventry, retiring to Florida with his late wife, Jennie M. Fricot (Nowak).

He was predeceased by his sister, Orpha and brothers Alexis, Albin and Vital and brother-in-law, John Nowak.

Also known as George, he spent a long career in the textile industry as a lace weaver. Working for many years at Linwood Lace, he retired from Seekonk Lace, Pawtucket. A skilled carpenter, he built his house on Boston Street in Coventry with his brothers and took great pride in the furnishings he made for family and friends.

Ghislain is survived by his daughter, Joan V. Fricot of Warwick, son Brian A. Fricot of St. Petersburg, FL, son John G. Fricot and daughter-in-law Rosemary of Lutz, FL, and daughter Linda Smith and son-in-law John Paul of Greene, RI. He also leaves grandchildren Jason and Cortnie Fricot and Nicholas R. Smith.

His last years were enriched by his friends at the Grace Church Apartments, his nieces and extended family and friends. Ghislain enjoyed a long and happy retirement in Rotonda West, FL with regular visits back to Rhode Island. He and Jennie were able to travel through Europe together and with their son Brian and late daughter-in-law Judith, visiting relatives in Belgium and Poland.

His Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 am from the R. A. IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church. Interment will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry, RI 02816 of the RI Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave, Providence, RI 02907 would be appreciated.
