PAPPOLA, GEORGIA (MANTZARAKIS), age 80, of Church Avenue, Warwick, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Cosimo Pappola.
Born in Pireaus, Greece, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Kairameda) Mantzarakis, she lived in Warwick since 1965. Mrs. Pappola was employed in jewelry manufacturing.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Linda Pappola of Warwick; a niece, Ann M. Zonfrillo and her husband Paul of Narragansett; and a nephew, Lawrence Poulos and his wife Pat of Cranston.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Rhode Island Hospital Friends of Nursing Fund, c/o Development Office, PO Box H, Providence, RI 02903.
