David A. Gustafson, Sr., 82, of Appleton Street, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He was the husband of the late Barbara S. (Butler) Gustafson.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gunner and Pearl (Matteson) Gustafson.
Mr. Gustafson was a US Marine Corps. Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for many years before retiring and was a member of the Postal Service Union.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
He leaves a son, David A. Gustafson, Jr. and his wife Nancy of North Kingstown; a daughter, Cynthia Barbara Gustafson of Arlington, VA; and three grandchildren, Bethany Lynn and Kimberly Ann Gustafson and Rebecca Mae Gimbel. He was the father of the late Diane Lin Gustafson.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10am in Bethany Lutheran Church, 116 Rolfe Street, Cranston. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Friday 6-8pm in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Should friends desire, donations in his memory to the Bethany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
