Raymond M. Nally, 61, of Wakefield, died unexpectedly Saturday. He was the husband of the late Betsy (Cooke) Nally. He was the son of Carolyn (Miller) Nally of Kingston and the late Thomas P. Nally.
Born in Lansing, MI, on May 17, 1951. At four, Ray moved to his lifetime home of South County, Rhode Island. Ray graduated from Cheshire Academy CT, and attended the University of Rhode Island. He was a lobsterman and had a great passion for the sea. He loved surfing and skiing as well as reading and discussing current events. Ray will be remembered for his devotion and dedication to his family.
Besides his mother he is survived by his daughter, Beau Cooke Nally of New Orleans, LA; two brothers, Tom Nally and his wife Patty of South Dennis, MA and Mark Nally of Narragansett; two sisters, Kit Schlosky and her husband Mark of Hingham, MA and Tricia Hogan and her husband Chuck of Cambridge, VT; and nieces and nephews, Lauren, Mike, Danny, Steph, Tim, Jim, Ricky, and Bill. He was the brother of the late Steve Nally. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Tuesday from 4-6 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Pt. Judith Fisherman’s Memorial Foundation, PO Box 671, Charlestown, RI 02813 or the Kingston Improvement Association, PO Box 141, Kingston, RI 02881, for the care of the park, where Raymond spent much of his youth.
