Friday, April 6, 2012 following 10:00am funeral service in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home (Section 96 Lot 17 Grave 4)

Collins, Lenore D., PhD, “Lee”, 75, died Monday, April 2, 2012. She was the beloved wife for 52 years of Patrick H. Collins.  Born in Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late Leo C. and Honora (Jamieson) Hall.

She was the beloved mother of Patrick H. Collins, Jr. of East Providence and Michael P. Collins of San Francisco; grandmother of Patrick H. Collins, III and sister of Grace McEntee of Prudence Island.

Lee received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from RI College and her PhD from the University of Connecticut. She was an associate professor at RI College in the Industrial Arts Department for 23 years retiring in 2004 and for over 20 years was involved with printers serving on boards of printing organizations in RI. While at RIC, she helped write a grant resulting in a non-profit printing organization, Providence Graphics Arts Assoc. later becoming Graphic Communications Industry of RI (GCIRI). A major mission of GCIRI was to keep printing industry employee’s skills up to date and she received the GATF Education Award for her efforts. Lee served in many capacities becoming Executive Director after her retirement from RIC. She was also first woman president of the International Graphic Arts Education Assoc. (IGAEA). She held many offices and chaired several committees and received the Fred J. Hartman Service Award in 1998 and the Kagy Life Achievement Award in 2004. She also hosted IGAEA’s Annual Conference at RIC in 2004. Lee was also very involved with the Hope Historical Society and the Farm Bureau until her passing.

Her funeral service will be held Friday at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 N. Main Street, Providence, RI 02908 will be appreciated.
