Ernest E. Olson, 93, of Riverside Ave., died Friday, January 20, 2012, in the West View Health Care Center, West Warwick, RI. He was the husband of Irene B. (Bengtson) Olson to whom he had been married for sixty one years. He was born in Providence October 23, 1918, a son of the late E. Ivar and Jennie (Lantz) Olson and was a lifelong resident of Cranston.
Mr. Olson was employed as a service technician for the Coca Cola Co. in Providence for thirty eight years until his retirement in 1983. He was an active Church member for many years, belonging in recent years to the Faith Chapel in Cranston. He was an Army veteran serving during WW II.
In addition to this wife, he is survived by three sisters, Helen Inman of Jacksonville, FL, Marion Hawkinson of Cranston, Ethel Whitman of Cranston, several nieces and nephews and his special Godchildren Isaih and Elias Hoffinger.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 11 am in the Faith Chapel, 43 Scituate Ave., Cranston, RI. Private interment in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown, RI Should friends desire, donations in his memory to the Faith Chapel will be appreciated.
