Paula Beatrice Judge, 66, of Sarasota Avenue, passed away peacefully October 7, 2011 surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late Paul B. and Beatrice R. (DeLorey) Judge.
She received a B.S. in English from Boston College where she was awarded a fellowship for her Master’s Degree in Special Education.
Ms. Judge was a Special Education teacher for the Town of North Kingstown for 28 years before retiring; previously teaching in Massachusetts for 11 years. She was a founding member of the RI Branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
She was a member of the RI NEA and served as secretary of the North Kingstown NEA. She was the past President and Chair of PRNR in MA. She was an avid reader.
She leaves two children, Heather and her husband Eric of Cranston and Sean Judge; a sister, Roberta L. Judge of Stoughton, MA; 4 grandchildren, Cassidy and Noah Judge, Matthew Plevener and Ryleigh Butterworth; a niece, Tanya Blythe; 2 great-nephews, Matthew Paige and Taylor Judge; and a great-great niece, Bella Paige.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the RICAN Food Bank, 2075 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, Charlestown, RI 02813 or Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
