The Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation (KDMF)
Katie DeCubellis, age 13
When their thirteen year old daughter, Katie, was killed by a drunk driver in 1999, her parents, Margaret and John DeCubellis, turned their grief into a mission to influence others against drunk driving through a foundation they organized and named in memory of their daughter.
Through speaking engagements at middle schools around the country and videos produced for the Rhode Island Driver’s Education programs, Meg and John have been able to reach hundreds of thousands with their message about the dangers and deadly consequences of driving while under the influence. Margaret R. DeCubellis joined the Board of Directors at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery after being unanimously voted in during its June 15, 2010 Corporation Meeting.
