Warwick – Marjorie Hudson (Allen) Worthington, 83, of Eagle Run and a summer resident of Ashland, NH passed away peacefully at her home in Warwick surrounded by her family on December 16, 2013. She was the beloved wife of John M. Worthington with whom she celebrated their 63 years of marriage.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Gladys (Parkin) Allen, she lived in Cranston before moving to Warwick. With her love of music, she attended the Rhode Island Conservatory of Music and the University of Rhode Island.

She was an active member of the Warwick Central Baptist Church and, during the summer months, of the Ashland Baptist Church. Marjorie’s love of music also led her to serve churches as an accomplished choir member and soloist. She was a past member of the Western Cranston Garden Club. Marjorie shared her passion of God’s creation through gardening, collecting specimen bugs, bird feathers, rocks, shells and autumn leaves.

As a committed wife, mother and grandmother, she will be remembered for her servant heart, born out of her unconditional love and kindness. She led a life steeped in prayer, which became the foundation of her daily living and life’s-offering; always pointing others to the love of Christ that was so evident in her life.

In addition to her husband Marjorie is survived by their children: James M. Worthington & his wife Robyn of Swansea, MA, Ann L. Mandanici & her husband Dean of Medina, OH, Peter L. Worthington & his wife Sara of Cranston, Thomas A. Worthington & his wife Kathleen of Cranston and John T. Worthington & his wife Kimberly of Saunderstown; her sister: Frances Sisson of Cranston; her brother: Charles H. Allen of Hopkinton and their ten grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Apponaug. A private graveside service and burial will be held in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
