Young, William T., 86, of North Kingstown, passed away October 2, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 28 years to Mary Ann (Baxter)Stevens-Young.

Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late John and Marie Young.

Mr. Young was a real estate broker for 50 years. He was the broker owner of Young Realty, Inc. in North Kingstown before retiring. Previously employed as a revaluation consultant across the country and served as a senior appraiser for the State of Rhode Island, Board of Tax Equalization. He served as a member of the RI Real Estate commission for 10 years. He was a catalyst to, and spearheaded the reeducation certification for Realtors. Mr. Young was a WWII Army veteran.

He was the loving father to a blended family, Joan Andrus of LA, Gayle Lund of Utah, Christopher Young of Warwick, Mary Ann Topp and Rebecca Moniz of North Kingstown, Bethany Lenderman of VA and brother to Charles Young, as well as three stepsons. He is survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, William T. Young, Jr. and brothers, John, Frank and Robert Young, sister, Lillian Anthony. Bill enjoyed music, especially jazz, quiet evenings and a “perfect” dry Rob Roy. He had an ingenious imagination and quick wit that kept everyone on their toes. He was passionate and protective of his loving wife as she was the light of his life. In his difficult, uncomfortable journey Home, he could still make you laugh or smile with a look, gesture or wink.

Relative and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis DeSales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown Tuesday, October 8, at 10 am followed by burial with military honors in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions to RI Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or The REALTOR Foundation, RI c/o Claudia Chappelle, 100 Bignall Street, Warwick, RI 02889, will be appreciated.
