Friday, May 31, 2013 following 11am funeral service at the Church of the Apostles (Section 43 Lot 4 Grave 2)

Warwick – Earland W. Fielder, Sr., 92, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at West View Health Care in West Warwick. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence G. (Renehan) Fielder.

Born in Beverly, MA, a son of the late Earland W. Fielder and the late Mabel V. (Prescott) Fielder-Jones, he was a United States Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

Earl worked as a conservation officer for the former RI Department of Natural Resources, now the Department of Environmental Management, for thirty-two years before retiring in 1982. For the last 8 years of his career he served the Department at the rank of Captain as the Chief of Boating Safety.

He was a member and former senior warden of the former Church of St. Andrew & St. Philip, now the Church of the Apostle, Coventry where he served on the committee for the new building.

Earl was a Mason and a past master of Nathanael Greene Lodge #45, now affiliated with Harmony Lodge 9, Cranston. He was a past worthy patron in the Order of the Eastern Star and served the Rhode Island Grand Chapter as worthy grand patron.

He is survived by his two sons Earland W. Fielder, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Wautauga, TX and Ronald W. Fielder and his wife Katherine of Warwick and was “Papa” to his four grandchildren: Kara, Adam, Thomas and Michael and to his great grandson Asa.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Apostles, 170 Fairview Avenue, Coventry. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 during which a Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 10:45. Burial with military honors will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Memorial gifts made in his name to the Church would be appreciated.
