Hopkins, Gordon S., 70, passed away at home while surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 14, 2012. He was the husband of Cheryl L. (Roy) Hopkins of West Warwick. Born in Coventry, he was the son of the late Allan and Stella (Tucker) Hopkins.
He worked for the State of RI for 30 years in several positions, one of which was a community living aide.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Sabra and husband James Nash of Lincoln; a son Russell Hopkins and wife Karen of Hernando, MS; a stepson David Brooks and wife Theresa of Douglas, MA; four grandchildren Justina, Joshua, Matthew and Emily; a great-grandchild Jeremiah and two brothers Allan Hopkins of Maryland and Roger Hopkins of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by two brothers Russell and David Hopkins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 18 from 4-7 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Burial and services will be private.
