Warwick – Janet L. Dorman, R.N., 86, of Love Lane died Saturday, September 8, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Brian A. Dorman, M.D.
Born in Putnam, CT, a daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Page, she lived in Warwick since 1965. After graduating from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, CT, she worked as a registered nurse for many years before starting her family.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Greenwich and The Dunes Club in Narragansett.
She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest pleasure was entertaining and feeding neighborhood friends and legions of youth and college hockey players.
Janet is survived by: her two sons Bradley P. Dorman of Warwick and Brian D. Dorman and his wife Denise of Warwick; her five grandchildren Alexis, Trevor and Andrew Dorman of Providence and Brian and Meredith Dorman of Warwick; and her sister Ruth Rowan of Bennington, VT. She was the mother of the late Nancy Dorman and sister of the late Robert Page.
Calling hours will be held at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service to be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Peirce Street, East Greenwich. Burial will be at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
