CONTI, CLAIRE (ASCIOLLA), 82, passed away June 10, 2012. She was the devoted wife of John J. Conti and a Rhode Island native. Claire was the daughter of the late Emilio and Angela (Buonfiglio) Asciolla.
She resided in North Providence since 1966. Claire was a patron of the theater and musical arts throughout the state. In addition to her fondness for classic jazz, her writing talents received acclaim in a variety of contests and local publications, most recently by The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook.
She managed the operations of her husband’s business, Providence Monumental Works, for more than 40 years while simultaneously running a household and raising a family. Claire’s warmth, wit, and kindness will long be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
She was the beloved mother of daughter, Jill Terry and son, John Conti, who, along with her husband, will miss her deeply and forever be inspired by and grateful for her selfless devotion to family.
Calling hours Wednesday MORNING beginning at 9 AM, with a service to follow at 10:30 AM in the A. A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Entombment in the Quidnessett Cemetery Mausoleum, North Kingstown.
