Diane M. (Medeiros) Bromberg, 62, of Stubtoe Drive, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at home. Born in Fall River, MA she was a daughter of the late Leonel S. and Mary P. “Mae” (Oliveira) Medeiros; the beloved wife for thirty-five years of William M. Bromberg; the beloved mother of Eric Bromberg and his wife Lisa of Uxbridge, MA, Jared Bromberg and his wife Jennifer of Irvine, CA and Gregory Bromberg of Pawtucket; the cherished sister of Sandra Shrader of Fall River, Paul Medeiros of Louisville, KY and Richard Medeiros of Warwick and the proud and devoted grandmother of Adam Bromberg. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Diane was a dedicated volunteer with P.A.R.I.; was its first newsletter editor and a recipient of the organization’s Special Merit Award. She was an avid reader who belonged to the Cowesett Women’s Book Club. She was an active member of PFLAG and a member of its Board for nine years. When her boys were younger, and over the span of fifteen years, she was an active member of the Rocky Hill School PTL. Her spirited nature as a volunteer extended beyond her family’s activities as she often drove people to a doctor’s appointment or to the library.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 10 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893-2320. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2:30 – 4:30 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Rd., North Kingstown 02852-1826.
