John Lee, 47 of Coventry, died Monday September 6, 2010 at home. He was the beloved husband of Sue Lee.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, he was the son of Jongsang and Sunrea (Kim) Lee. Mr. Lee served in the Korean Army as a helicopter pilot from 1984 until his discharge as a Captain and Company Commander in 1988.

Mr. Lee received his education from, In Ha Technical Collage in Mechanical Engineering and Kwang Ju University in Computer Science both in Korea and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Aeronautical Science and the Community College of Rhode Island in Law Enforcement where he graduated with highest honors.

Mr. Lee worked for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer from 2000 to 2008 where he was a member of the Special Response Team. He had previously worked for Papa Gino’s Inc. as a Manager, the Kocam Korea Co. Ltd. in Korea as a Section Chief and Costal Pacific Aviation Ltd. in Vancouver, Canada as a Program Coordinator. Mr. Lee was a Licensed Pilot having rating by the FAA in Fixed Wing Commercial, IFR Muliti Engine ratings, Rotary Wing Private and a CAA Flight Instructor.

Besides his wife Sue, he is survived by his children John Lee and Jennifer Lee both of Coventry. His brother Hoyoung Lee and four sisters Soyoung Lee, Monica Lee, Pilyoung Lee, and Julia Chung.

His funeral was held at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home on September 10, 2010.
