Miner, George L. 97 passed away December 24, 2012. He was the husband of the late Jane Osborne (Fales) Miner. Born in Cranston he was a son of the late Isac D. and Olga (Lindol) Miner.
During WWII he worked at Builder’s Iron Foundry to support the war effort. He then worked for the Grinnell Corp. for 29 years as a Research Engineer. He graduated from Brown University in 1939. Mr. Miner enjoyed traveling around the country and sailing with his wife Jane.
He is survived by two children; Curtis L. Miner and Betsey M. Mitchell, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister Annie Jilson Bolduc. He was the brother of the late Harry D. and Albert D. Miner and Elaine Travers.
Funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, N. Kingstown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Steere House, 100 Borden St., Providence, RI 02903.
