Wednesday, December 19, 2012 following 8:45am funeral from Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home and 10am service in the Church of the Annunciation (Section 244 Lot 6 Grave 14A)

PAPPOLA, COSIMO age 83, of Church Avenue, Warwick, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Georgia (Mantzarakis) Pappola.

Born in Patras, Greece, a son of the late Antonio and Pasqualina Pappola, he lived in Warwick since 1965.

Mr. Pappola was a baker at Homestead Baking Co. in East Providence for 30 years, retiring in 1991. Earlier in his life, he was a fisherman in Florence, Italy. He enjoyed visiting Twin Rivers.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda A. Pappola of Warwick; a granddaughter, Coco C. Pappola; and several nieces and nephews, including Ann M. Zonfrillo and her husband Paul of Narragansett, Lawrence Poulos and his wife Pat of Cranston, George Gatsoulas and his wife Elaine of Philadelphia, PA, and Voula Stasinopoulos and her husband Tykie of East Providence. He was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 19, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green Warwick, with a service at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be to Rhode Island Hospital, Friends of Nursing Fund, c/o Development Office, P.O. Box H, Providence, RI 02903.
