Jacqueline (Green) Combs, 72, of Coventry, died peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harold Green and Mae (White) Green. She was the loving wife of John W. Combs, Jr.
Mrs. Combs was a Registered Nurse for many years until her retirement. She was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of U.N.C. Charlotte, where she received her nursing degree. She was active as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and was a member of the Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian, where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed reading, ice skating, and swimming.
She leaves her two children: John E. Combs of Fayetteville, NC and Lisa E. Jacavone of Glocester. Cherished grandmother of John B. Combs, Kimberly Bollinger, Jessica Williams, and Joseph Jacavone. She was the sister of William Green of Conneault Lake, PA, Dorothy Siekkinen of Irwin, PA and Marilyn Pasquini of Conneault Lake, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:00 am in Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian, 805 Main Ave., Warwick. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to The American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886, or to the Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian will be appreciated.
