David R. Burnham, 64, of North Kingstown, passed away  peacefully on September 12, 2011 at his home. He was the beloved husband  of Mary-Beth (Ostiguy) Burnham for 45 years.

<h3 style="text-align: left;">Monday, September 19, 2011 following 10:00am funeral in the <a href="http://faganquinnfuneralhome.com:8080/mwf/main/Visitation.seam?visitationID=2922">Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home</a> (Section 76 Lot 11 Grave 5)</h3>
<p>David R. Burnham, 64, of North Kingstown, passed away  peacefully on September 12, 2011 at his home. He was the beloved husband  of Mary-Beth (Ostiguy) Burnham for 45 years.<br />
<span id="more-1346"></span><br />
Born in Providence, he was a son of Shirley J. (Baker)  Burnham of Saunderstown and the late Russell O. Burnham (LCDR US Navy,  Retired).</p>
<p>Mr. Burnham was the owner and operator of Burnham  Excavating, Inc. He enjoyed farming, especially making hay and antique  construction equipment.</p>
<p>Mr. Burnham served on the North Kingstown School  Committee for 8 years and served as Chairman on the North Kingstown Town  Council for 10 years. He was a member and Past Chairman of the RI 4-H  Club Foundation and served on the Board of Directors. He was a charter  member, President and lobbyist for the RI Independent Contractors &amp;  Associates for 28 years. He was a member and treasurer of the Northeast  Rockbusters.</p>
<p>Mr. Burnham served on the RI DEM Septic Onsite Wastewater  Technical Review Committee and was the founding member of the Onsite  Wastewater Training Center at URI. He was an invited reviewer for the  National Wastewater Training Curriculum and served on the RI Board of  Examiners Hoisting Engineers.</p>
<p>Besides his wife and mother, he leaves four children,  Heidi Wright (William) of West Greenwich, David R., Jr. (Cheri Casey),  Robert Cote (Beth) and Kevin E. Burnham all of North Kingstown; two  brothers, Lawrence of FL and Kenneth of GA; 3 grandchildren, Bethany and  William Wright and Robert Gardiner; 3 step-grandchildren and 7  step-great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>His Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 19,  2011 at 10am in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road,  North Kingstown. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting hours Sunday 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions  to Home &amp; Hospice Care of RI, South Team, 1085 North Main Street,  Providence, RI 02904 or to the RI 4-H Club Foundation, PO Box 1925,  Kingston, RI 02881 will be appreciated.</p>
