<p><strong>Joseph H. Olivieri</strong>, 88, of Warwick passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Louise A. (Rice) Olivieri. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Domenic and Stella (Romeo) Olivieri.<br />

An Inspector and Master Welder, Mr. Olivieri was the Supervisor of Shipbuilding for the United States Navy Civil Service until his retirement in 1988. He served in The United States Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of East Greenwich.</p>
<p>He was the loving father of Peter A. Olivieri of Cranston, Nancy A. Olivieri of Warwick and the late Paul J. Olivieri. Cherished grandfather of five and great-grandfather of one. Caring brother of Ronald D. Olivieri of Cranston and the late Murray J. Olivieri, Angelo Oliver, Grace Belanger and Eleanor Natal.</p>
<p>Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in <a href="http://www.murphyfuneralhomes.org" target="_blank">THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME</a>, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.</p>

<p>Aron Richard Ogren, 86, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 1. 1927, the son of the late Aron R. Ogren and Olga V. (Anderson) Ogren. He was married to the late Dolores Rombough for 53 years, and is survived by his wife, Ruby Leblanc.<br />

Richard and his family moved to School St in North Kingstown in 1931. At the age of 18, Richard enlisted in the Army at the end of World War II. He served 10 months of his enlistment in Italy. Like his father, he spent many years farming. He was employed at General Fittings, Quidnessett Baptist Church, American Tourister and Electric Boat. He was an active member of Quidnessett Baptist Church and then Exeter Chapel. Richard spent many hours studying his favorite book of the Bible, Revelation. He was a leader in the Christian Service Brigade and volunteered a week during the summer for many years at Frontier Camp in Lovell, Maine. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. He played right field on the Frenchtown Farmers Baseball team. His favorite sports teams were the Red Sox and the Patriots. For several years, he spent long hours collecting and sorting baseball cards.</p>
<p>Richard is survived by his sister, Hope E. Bryant of North Kingstown and his children Richard M. Ogren and his wife Cynthia of North Kingstown, David E. Ogren and his wife Shelley of Muskegon, MI and Nancy A. Leventry and her husband Robert of Richmond, RI and 8 grandchildren: Michelle Stebner (David), Debra Curry (Samuel), Richard Ogren (Cassandra), Christopher Ogren (Jennifer), Stephanie Nelson (David), David Ogren (Sherry), Emily Goldberg (Bradley), Laura Smith (Austin), Step-children Nora and Donald Leblanc. 11 great- grandchildren: Hannah, Natalie and Joshua Stebner; Abigail, Annaliese, Kathryn and Alanah Curry; Genevieve and Tanner Ogren; Lydia and Charles Nelson. He was the brother of the late Helen V. Bennett.</p>
<p>His funeral will be held on Friday, May 30, at 10:00 am at the Exeter Chapel, 765 Ten Rod Rd, Exeter. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery Calling hours will be Thursday, May 29, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the <a href="http://hillfuneralhome.com" target="_blank">Hill Funeral Home</a>, 822 Main St East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in his memory to Exeter Chapel Benevolence Fund.</p>

<p>Norton Walfrid Chellgren, of Green Hill Beach, Rhode Island passed away on January 6, 2014. Norton was born on January 23, 1928 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his parents Walfrid and Hedda Chellgren and his sister&#8217;s Norma Ziefle and Frances Amross.<br />

In addition to his long time loving partner Carolyn Craig of Green Hill Beach, Rhode Island, Norton is survived by sister Silvia Zorena of Virginia Beach, Virginia, son David Chellgren and his wife Lorene of Canton, Connecticut and Green Hill Beach, Rhode Island, son Paul Chellgren and his wife Kelli of Dallas, Texas, son Mark Chellgren and his companion Sheila Swan of Wakefield, Rhode Island and son Stephen Chellgren of East Hartford, Connecticut. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Kristin and her husband Michael Bruyette, John Chellgren, Gregory and his wife Ashley Chellgren, Suzy Chellgren, Courtney Chellgren and Melanie Chellgren.</p>
<p>He was a veteran of the <a class="MicrositeKeyword" id="InlineMicrositeLink_Korean_War" title="Visit Korean War Memorial Site to see similar profiles" href="http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/korean-war/?personid=168974054&amp;affiliateID=124" target="_blank">Korean War</a> where he proudly served as a member of the Army Signal Corps. A graduate of the University of Arkansas and a member of its Phi Beta Kappa chapter, he was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and worked his entire career as an Actuary at Aetna, principally the Aetna Group Division. He loved all things relating to baseball, including &#8220;stats&#8221; and memorabilia. He was an active member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department where he enjoyed the camaraderie of those who served with him. Later, during his retirement he spent 20 years as a volunteer for Seniors Helping Others (SRIV). He loved interacting with others and made numerous friends at Green Hill. What his sons will remember are those games of football and basketball that were played in the yard with family and friends.</p>

<p>John Larson Campbell, 90 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 and his beloved wife, Ruth Essex Campbell, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2014.<br />
<span id="more-6654"></span><br />
John was born on his family&#8217;s farm near Concordia, Kansas on November 19, 1922 to Gaylord and Fern Campbell.  He was the oldest of six children and graduated from Concordia High School in 1941, attended Kansas State College (now Kansas State University) and then enlisted in the Army at Ft.. Riley, Kansas. After serving two years at Ft. Riley as a horse cavalryman he deployed to Europe as an infantryman to join the Second World War where he earned the Bronze Star for infantry combat duty. After his discharge from the Army in 1946 he moved to Rhode Island where he fell in love with Ruth Essex.</p>
<p>Ruth was born in North Kingstown, Rhode Island on August 29, 1923 to William Reynolds and Jessie (Grant) Essex, their youngest of three children. She graduated from North Kingstown High School in 1941.</p>
<p>John and Ruth married at Quidnessett Baptist Church in North Kingstown, Rhode Island on June 27, 1948 and lived to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2013 in Greenville, South Carolina.</p>
<p>Most of their married life was spent in Cheshire, Connecticut where John worked for The Bellows Company as a field engineer and district manager for sales. Ruth was a stay-at-home mom until her daughters were teenagers then she worked as an administrative assistant at nearby Quinnipiac College and as an assistant to a local dentist. She also sang in various choirs over the years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.</p>
<p>John was passionate about witnessing for Jesus Christ. He was an elder in a local church, served as a Gideon for over 60 years, actively participated in the National Prayer Breakfast Movement, and helped with Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship by visiting inmates to share the Gospel. John also co-founded the Cheshire Teens youth group in the 1960’s which impacted many young lives for Christ. He served as an elected and appointed Republican political leader in Cheshire for many years as well.</p>
<p>John and Ruth are survived by their two daughters, Janet Maginnis and husband Robert of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Joyce Andrews and husband David of Greenville, South Carolina; 4 grandchildren: Meghan Moore and husband Chris of Woodbridge, Virginia; Sarah Sheehan and husband Jim of San Diego, California; Grant Maginnis and wife Allison of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Paul Andrews of Birmingham, Alabama. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>John and Ruth were blessed to have met their one great-grandchild, Campbell Moore, who was born in September 2012.</p>
<p>John is survived by one brother, Robert Campbell and wife Linda of Salina, Kansas; two sisters, Marilyn Goodwin of Concordia, Kansas and Norma Price of Clyde, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Fern Campbell; brothers, Gaylord Jr. Campbell and Franklin Campbell. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jessie Essex, and brothers Grant Essex and Stewart Essex.</p>
<p>An internment will take place on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00AM in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Stanley Allaby, Ruth’s cousin, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International.</p>

<p>Edward Campion, USNR(Ret.), 89, peacefully passed away May 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mildred (Camara) Campion. Born in New Castle, England, he was the son of the late Edward and Polly (Bulford) Campion.<br />

Before retirement, Mr. Campion worked for the Civil Service as a Planner and Estimator for Quonset Naval Air Station. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the retired Seabees Association and had been an assistant leader for Troop 1 Frenchtown Boy Scouts of America. Besides his wife he is survived by a son Daniel M. Campion and daughter Margaret “Peg” Campion and her husband Richard Shayer; step granddaughters Meadowlyn and Naomi and 2 step great grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lawrence and John Campion.</p>
<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13th at 11:00am at St. Francis de Sales Church, School St., North Kingstown. Burial with military honors will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.</p>

<p>Canavey, John W., 76, of 55 Anne Drive in East Greenwich passed away on Wednesday April 30, 2014. John was also a United States Air Force veteran who was assigned to the Intelligence Division. Born in Providence, John was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Boyer) Canavey.<br />

He was the loving father of Ronna Antonelli and the late Mark Blanchette. He is also survived by his sister Sallymae Shaw and her husband Bruce, grandchildren Joseph and Nicole Antonelli and was the brother of the late Charles T. Cavaney.</p>
<p>A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00am in <a href="http://thebutterfieldhome.com/" target="_blank">The Butterfield Chapel</a> 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingstown. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Hospice Care of Rhode Island 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.</p>

<p><strong>Paul Sunderland Barbour</strong>, 79, passed away at the Orange Park Medical in Orange Park, FL on February 10, 2014 , , with family at his side.  Paul was born to the late Melvin and Lillian Barbour on January 21, 1935 in North Kingstown, RI.<br />
<span id="more-6544"></span><br />
Paul joined the US Army in 1953, and was on active duty until 1956, then went into the Army Reserves and completed 8 years of service.  He was a proud Korean War veteran, receiving the Korean, United Nations and National Defense service medals.  At one point he was the Soldier of the Month.</p>
<p>After the serving his country, he managed the Indian Lake Turkey Farm in South Kingstown until about 1962.  Then he started building houses for Smiley and Anderson.  Paul then moved to</p>
<p>Springfield, Vermont where he was in the logging business and also was a steel worker.  He met Annette Sharon in Vermont and became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in 1967, and rose to the rank of Governor.  Paul and Annette married and moved to RI.  Paul worked for General Dynamics at Quonset Point, RI as a security guard and also as a crane operator.  After retiring, they moved to North Carolina, where he again worked as a security guard at the Baptist Assembly in Caswell Beach, NC, and retired again in 2013, prior to going to Moosehaven.</p>
<p>He was an avid fisherma n and hunter.  He also enjoyed boating, clamming and playing cards.  Anyone coming into the family needed to master the card game called 45! He enjoyed hunting in Hadley, NY with his brother Richard and sons Daniel and Norman. Paul and Annette also enjoyed their vacations and visited many areas around the country.  Gardening was another passion.  His garden was always big enough to feed many, not just them.</p>
<p>Paul is survived by his wife of 36 years whom still resides at Moosehaven; Kim Barrett and family of Springfield, VT; Kelly Young and family of Southport, NC; Karen Tierney and family of San Jose, CA; Paula Barbour and family of West Warwick, RI; Daniel Barbour and family of Springfield, VT; Norman Barbour and family of Warwick, RI; sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Paul is also survived by two brothers, Richard Barbour and family of North Kingstown, RI and Ronald Barbour and family of Minneola, FL.                                  .</p>
<p>Paul was preceded in death by an infant daughter Nancy, and his brother George M. Barbour of North Kingstown, RI.</p>
<p>He will be laid to rest in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery at a later date.  Contact the Barbour residence if you would like to be called regarding the date of his graveside service.  401-884-2472.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers contributions to any local Food Bank would be consistent with his gardening wishes.</p>

<p><strong>Ernest A. Malo</strong>, CPA, 87, died on Thursday, April 3, 2014 surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Teresa Pate Malo for 63 years.  Born in Warwick, a son of the late Alfred and Marie Louise Carpentier Malo.  He was predeceased by his brother, Roland Malo.  He was a Warwick resident for most of his life, leaving to serve in the US Army.<br />
<span id="more-6532"></span><br />
Ernie was a CPA for over 40 years.   He was the founding member of Malo, Recchia and Company.  He was a member of the RI Society of CPAs  and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from Brown University in 1951  and Bryant College. He served in the US Army in Korea and Japan.</p>
<p>He taught at Brown University and Bryant College.</p>
<p>He was a talented musician.  He played trumpet and piano. As a young man, and during his service years, he organized and played in many bands.  He loved swing, Dixieland, and jazz.  He spent several summers on Block Island playing at the National Hotel, The Yellow Kittens and The Oar.</p>
<p>He served on the boards of many corporations, notably, the Providence &amp; Worcester Railroad.</p>
<p>He summered for 40 years at Indian Rock Farms, Narragansett where he sailed, fished, quahogged,  and enjoyed the serenity with his family.</p>
<p>He is survived by his son Geoffrey Pate Malo, CPA (Laurel) and daughter Leslie Malo Ashworth, RN (Michael).  He leaves six grandchildren, Sarah Ashworth Lynch (Thomas), Heather Malo, Joseph Malo, PE (Erin), James Ashworth,MFA, Thomas Ashworth, and Kate Ashworth, BSN, RN.</p>
<p>At the request of the family, visiting hours are omitted.  The funeral and burial will be private.</p>
<p>Donations in his memory can be made to the Rhode Island Association for the Blind.</p>

<p>Mr. Goff was a letter carrier for 30 years and was the former owner of West Shore Laundry. He served with the US Army in the Korean War and was a member of the Masons, Nathaniel Greene Lodge. He leaves three sons, Jay T. Goff, Roger W. Goff and his wife Mary, and Jeffrey A. Goff; brother of John H. Goff, the late Elmer Goff, Grace Roaks, Eunice Collins and Carolyn Davis; also survived by six grandchildren.</p>
<p>His funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 am in the <a href="http://www.thequinnfuneralhome.com" target="_blank">Thomas &amp; Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel</a>, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4-8 pm.</p>
