Main Entrance Flagpole

The main flag pole was donated by Mrs. Marion Elwood Shippee in memory of her grandfather.   An active member of the Nathanael Green Chapter of DAR for 61 years and Secretary Emeritus of Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery for over 40 years, Mrs. Shippee also contributed toward many of the plantings and facilities at the cemetery.  In 1962, the main flagpole was officially dedicated:
